HOW WE HELP

Michiana Family Center provides trauma-informed mentoring to youth and wraparound support to foster, adoptive, and kinship families through trusted relationships, coordinated services, and community partnerships. Our desire is that through greater connectedness caregivers may find renewed confidence in caring for their own unique family, and children have tools they need to succeed in leading meaningful lives. We currently support Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana communities.

Family Support Services

Regular support group sessions offer training, encouragement, and peer support for foster, adoptive, and kinship parents. Annual resource fairs connect families with community service providers and available supports.

Youth Mentorship Program

Our program matches youth with trained, safe, and caring adult volunteers who provide consistent guidance, encouragement, and positive relationship-building.

Community Events

Monthly family-friendly events provide social connection, peer support, and a sense of normalcy while connecting volunteers with families in need of support.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Partner with us as we work toward a Michiana community of empowered foster, adoptive and kinship families. Through becoming a mentor to a child or teen who needs extra support, delivering meals to families in need, or volunteering at events and meet-ups you can make an impact in your community. Additionally, your financial support is integral to our programs and support of foster, adoptive and kinship families. We cannot do this work without your partnership, and we thank you for getting involved to meet these needs.
